Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs found a common ground and reached a contract agreement
The 7'4 phenom Victor Wembanyama has cemented San Antonio Spurs as his home. a Victor and the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to a five-year agreement with $252 million contract extension.
Considering this is Victor Wembanyama third year in the NBA this is pretty spectacular for him and his team. Wemby brings a lot to the team that is valuable he is putting up an average of 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks per game. Wemby skill set defensively in the paint has the San Antonio Spurs team being a force in the Western Conference Division.
The San Antonio Spurs made it to the Western Conference Championship and made it to the NBA Finals losing to the New York Knicks. The Spurs really came in and made the playoffs interesting with their youth and physicality and grit, in which in part of Wimby's athleticism. Due to his hard defensive style and his length, he has a lot of teams scrambling in drafting and shifting players that can match his energy and that match his rim protection.
San Antonio has a history of being loyal to their players, providing them with comfort and longevity with the team. (Except for Kawhi Leonard, understandable lol) In my opinion not really surprised by the effort in laying out the red carpet for the young Wemby. Wemby is young and is already a threat to the league, with more experience and conditioning he could definitely add a major component to the league.
Congratulations; but one can't help but wonder can the Spurs keep Wemby healthy, can you keep him from injuries, how do you make the money make sense and to be the greatest investment made. Wemby is a great player without a doubt, but the question is where is this team without him? What can you afford to add to the team with this paid salary? Will the nuns be able to pray Wemby healthy the whole season?
