TENNIS: US OPEN 1ST ROUND

US OPEN THE 1ST ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS:

US Open is the fourth and final of the four Grand Slams in tennis. The Open started on Sunday and here are some winners:

Women: J. Paolini, E. Navarro, E. Svitolina, J. Pegula, D. Veckic, L. Fernandez, M. Kostyuk

Men: A. Bublik, D. Medvedev, J Faria, P Shapovalov

These are just a few of the winners. 

We had a Major Alert with Novak Djokavic losing in the first round to Mariono Navone. 

So.... Being honest for years I have routed against Novak, why you ask it's because I was so partial to Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal that I would find myself on the other side of cheering for Novak. Novak personality was also mechanic and fridged that it just made it easier to root against.  Comes time, comes change as Federer and Nadal faded and retired, there was Novak Djokavic still playing. UGH!!! Who knew that my emotions would be wrapped and drawn in him succeeding. While Novak is not my favorite on the tennis circuit, I have a lot of respect for one of the GOATS that I used to cheer for when they lost. In these years Novak has gained a personality, and I have gained respect and a love for him.  To see him lose yesterday was a little heartbreaking, to see him not to be able to perform his true athleticism self,  made me realize that the robot is human after all. These last couple of tournaments have been difficult for him; with the struggle's relating to his health and conditioning; but I won't be surprised if he comes back next season stronger and more resilient than ever. 

Mariona Navone won in 5 sets, 4 hours and 36 minutes (7-6, 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1)

Venus Williams played one of the latest games I have seen at the US Open at 12:13am. 

Look no hate!!! Look Venus is 46 years old and I know her behind was sleepy and they wanted her to get up and jump around a tennis court... No Thank You!! 

Anyway... Venus lost to Sofia Kenin in two sets 6-2 ,7-6. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of a surprise here but I am still curious why does Venus keep competing she is a tennis Diva, she owned it and slayed it back in the day, she has nothing to prove. I am sure she can do just as well in recreational pickle ball or county club tennis. Hey I am just saying what you guys are thinking..... Girl What We doing??
