LaMelo Ball Fined for tripping Bam Adebayo
The question is do you agree with the end result from the NBA?
As a recap of events during the play-in basketball game between Charlotte Hornets verses Miami Heat. LaMelo Ball with Charlotte Hornets went up to make a shot when it was blocked by small forward Simone Fontecchio with Miami Heat. The ball was tipped to Bam Adebayo with the Miami Heat before it went out of bounds. LaMelo Ball, which was on the floor, took his hand and grabbed and tripped Bam, which had him landing on the floor backwards. Bam injured his back tailbone in the process, and he wasn't able to return to the game.
The NBA fined LaMelo for his actions a total of $35,000 for a flagrant foul 2 assessment and an additional $25,000. for using profane language during the postgame interview. 🤔
Interesting, does the penalty fit the action? As stated, before no one can get in the mind of a person and their intent. Bam was not able to return to the game due to LaMelo's action. Bam was pivotal and instrumental to Miami's roster during that game as he is their star player. And most likely Miami could have possibly won that game with him being accessible.
Maybe an eye for an eye, maybe he could have been suspended the next game, it could have sent a message that would have resonated. (If you think about it in basketball a flagrant 2 during a game gets you ejected)
"Sorry not Sorry", now it's been some conflicting statements going around. LaMelo claimed he apologized twice to Bam. Bam stated he hadn't received not one apology. Makes you wonder?? But this whole thing leads me back to, What about Hugo the Hornet? LaMelo punched his own mascot twice with his fist post-game. What about his justice??
Well....Lets stay tuned the Charlotte Hornets they play the Orlando Magic tonight at 6:30pm. Hopefully the referees will be watching the game and staying tuned also. Gheeeeesh!!!!!
