THE LA CLIPPERS GOT DEFEATED BY GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS IN THE PLAY-IN
What happens now, for Kawhi Leonard?
Last night on 04/15/26 the Golden State Warriors defeated the LA Clippers in the Play-In. Loser goes home game. (And nope I still can't believe it). The LA Clippers were leading majority of the game, but the Golden State Warriors just wouldn't go away, they made sure they would keep the score close the whole game and then when the 4th quarter hit it got interesting, Golden State hit the gas pedal.
Now I listened to one of the sports commentators, and in the beginning of the game he made a comment that Al Horford with Golden State Warriors was old. Well, Well, Well ..... Al Horford made him eat those words. He might as well have said: YOUR MAMMA. Al Horford went on a three-point tangent. He couldn't be stopped; he gave Golden State the lead. Kristaps Porzingis, he dominated the post he played very well, he was the extra player to provide points they needed in addition to Steph Curry. And as much as this pains me Draymond Green was a defensive beast on Kawhi Leonard, he smothered him. Kawhi had three turnovers in the last minutes of the fourth quarter, not allowing Kawhi to create plays to get the Clippers back into the game.
The final score was Golden State 126, La Clippers 121. Golden State will face Phoenix Suns on Friday.
The elephant in the room is Kawhi Leonard and his future with the LA Clippers. In restructuring of the team after this disappointing loss where does Kawhi fit in the scheme of things. During the regular season he suffered quite of few injuries which sidelined him. The team was plagued with trying to win games with their best player out; but they were encouraged that Kawhi was back to play in the Play-In and yet they still lost. While Kawhi is great and a valuable player, (he is truly a robot if you ask me). I do not see him with the Clippers next year. Which might not be a bad thing.
Kawhi needs to be on a team where, he is not heavily depended upon. The team has to have a great additional ball handler, someone who can alleviate the pressure off of Kawhi. Kawhi will get double teamed every time he brings the ball up the floor, he can't be the main orchestrator of plays. He works best when he is constantly moving and not stagnate on the floor.
He is still one of the best and amazing basketball players to watch. I just don't see us watching him with the Clippers next year though! Stay tuned...........
