San Antonio Spurs came and calmed the storm in New York with the Win in Game 3
The San Antonio Spurs came into the Madison Square Garden and got a win. The Spurs came in unnerved and ready to play. Victor Wembanyama played a much better game in the interview he stated after the game that the difference with this game is that "they played with more control and less mistakes and the hardest is yet to come". Wemby seemed to have his way in the paint, the New York Knicks were a little slow and a step behind Wemby in the defending him. Wemby scored 32 points with 8 rebounds. Stephon Castle played great also 23 points with 5 rebounds.
The San Antonio Spurs suffocated the New York Knicks defensively. The Knicks still kept the game close though going down to the wire with a few seconds on the clock. The final score was Spurs 115-Knicks 111.
The Knicks really came out tense in tonight's game. One of the reasons for the loss in my opinion is that Karl Anthony Towns he did not have a good game offensively. The only way for the Knicks to win and knock off the Spurs is he has to be aggressive offensively and wear down the defense, including Wemby. The first two games in San Antonio he did just that. In tonight game he wasn't really looking to score but to more of a passer. Jalen Brunson had a great game and was the high scorer for the Knicks with 32 points. Josh Hart offense returned in the Garden with his three-point shooting.
The referees were horrible again; the amount of physicality was outrageous, along with the no calls. The Spurs didn't disappoint; I think everyone knew that they were going to come out with aggression and desperation.
The Knicks seemed to be a little tight tonight; I think that the pressure may have gotten to them a little bit. After all, it is theirs to lose. Hopefully in watching film, Karl Anthony Towns will come back in Game 4 with more assertion.
