Former standout Quarterback Diego Pavia got waived from the Baltimore Ravens


Diego Pavia the brash quarterback from Vanderbilt Commadores may have to invest in another career opportunity. Diego Pavia was for two years a dual threat quarterback and at the end of the 2025 season he was the runner up for the Heisman Trophy. Diego won the SEC offensive player of the year and taking the college program to the first 10-win season. 

Diego amassed 5,832 yards across 26 games, and not to mention 49 total passing touchdowns including in a single season 29 his last season with the Commadores. Diego had 1,633 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns, which led to breaking records for the team he led them to 17 wins including a 10-3 record in 2025.

While good there were questions lingering on how good he would be able to perform in the NFL. Pavia statue was the big question, but the Baltimore Ravens gave him an opportunity by picking him up as a college free agent after he went unselected in the NFL draft. Baltimore provided Pavia a 3-year contract for 3.1 million with no guaranteed money. Today Diego was waived to clear space for a veteran center Ethan Pocic, sending him to the waiver wire one day before rookies were scheduled for training camp.

Diego within the 24-hour NFL timeline any of the other NFL teams can claim his contract if interested, if not he will become an unrestricted free agent to sign a newly defined contract with another team. 

Diego Pavia, work ethic in winning clearly was impressive but with his brash personality could be a little off putting, but I would hope that his journey has humbled the tough quarterback and he has an opportunity to find his footing with a NFL team.
