Trae Young is on the Washington Wizards team, but he slyly sent some shade at his old team
Well Mr. Young let your feelings known.
Trae Young who spent 7 1/2 years with the Atlanta Hawks, who clearly was the franchise player for the team was traded in January 2026 for CJ McCollum and Cory Kispert. Trae Young was a four time All Star and led the team to the 2021 Eastern finals. Young came into the league as a 19-year-old rookie, and he brought the Hawks an impressive 25 points 9 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
In terms and measuring in the NBA league these stats made him a top tier offensive athlete. Trae was also known for his clutch playmaking skills. Trae brought life back into the Hawks and gave them hope of surviving the drought, but I think Atlanta Hawks was stagnated due to the defensive roster. Trae was all offense in taking over a game or creating plays for other teammates. The Hawks just failed to build a good core around him, they needed to deviate from small to more of a big and defensive mindset, rim and paint defense. Unfortunately, I think the inconsistent thought process of building around Trae was frustrating to him, as in 2021 they had hope but then they seemed to vanish.
Trae even though he has moved on to the Washington Wizards, he often posts remarks regarding the Hawks the late was when his old teammate Zaccharie Risacher was traded he commented on his Instagram "My boy free, Go fly killa!"
Sounds like shade to me. But.... Trae just wait you still got Anthony Davis on your team. Save the shade you might need it for your team member. I'm just saying.
