James Harden will be where next Season?
James Harden and the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to move in synch together as James Harden agrees to a $97 million three-year contract. Apparently today the contract was inked giving
Harden a full guarantee that includes a player option and a 15% trade kicker. (Which means in Hardens contract it guarantees him an extra 15% cash bonus if he is traded) Harden declined his player opting to give the organization some financial means in the pursuit of other players to fulfill their roster.
Harden was obtained by Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade from the LA Clippers. While Harden and the Cleveland Cavaliers managed a great season this year, possibly better than projected, I don't know if he is worth the that type of investment. What do you think? Harden during the playoffs stats this season averaged 19.2 points, 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. On paper these numbers are great, but the numbers sometimes don't tell the whole story at times Harden seemed to hold the ball too long in trying to lull his competitor to sleep but it would backfire and he would lose the ball, or it would be stolen headed in the other direction. Harden would also not be able to keep up in transitional fast break plays and would appear slow and stagnate at times.
Side note: Hey I like James Harden, I think he is a great player, when I look at him playing, he just reminds me of my uncle going out in the back yard showing all the kids in the neighborhood he still got basketball skills all while playing in a house coat and house slippers.
Cleveland was able to obtain Peyton Watson the small forward shooting guard from the Denver Nuggets in a four-year $88 million deal. Watson averages 14.6 points and 4.9 rebounds and this will be able to assist the team as a backup option for James Harden in the game.
It will be interesting to see how the Cleveland Cavaliers comes back next season. This season they gave the fans a lot to be encouraged about.
