Suspensions for two Las Vegas Raiders players from team drills
OK am I the only one who is scratching their heads on this beef exchange. Quaterback Kirk Cousins and defensive end Maxx Crosby in practice got into a tussle. Kirk Cousins who look like the clean-cut guy next door decided to go MMA on Maxx Crosby who looks like the bad boy poster child.
In football practice Cousins was completely upset due to Crosby making contact with him twice striking his throwing arm and tipping a pass. Cousins got upset and started shouting and shoving Crosby and got in his chest while the rest of the team pulled them apart.
Cousins and Crosby were both taken out of drills this past Saturday, not only to let cooler heads prevail but to set a standard and a culture moving forward. With Cousins being out it allowed the rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza to get some practice time.
While I think this was a lesson learned for both players. One is for Cousins to know that while you are out the next man is up. Football is a competition sport while you are suspended the new guy slides right in. Also, for Crosby while we know he is always turned up you don't want to be in a position where you can hurt your own quarterback. Show some smarts and restraint your job is to protect your quarterback not lead him into the ER. (For goodness' sake) Whether you like it or not the quarterback is the captain of the ship if he goes down the ship is sure to sink,
