TENNIS-US OPEN THE RACE IS GETTING TIGHTER

US OPEN- THE HEAT IS ON

Women

Coco Gauff came out with a win in two sets against Paula Badosa 6-4, 7-6, Badosa tried to put up a fight against Gauff in the second set but allowed Gauff to dictate the points pushing her to the back court base line. Gauff felt the pressure in the second set and played her game with desperation.

Elena Rybakina the women #2 ranked came out without breaking a sweat. Rybakina in the last tennis tournament in Cincinnati was struggling from an injury, and people had a concern if she would be able to participate in the US Open and if so, how effective could she be, but right now she is not showing any signs of injury nor slowing down. Rybakina beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-2, 6-4

Mirra Andreeva showed no mercy on her opponent Eva Lys beating her with a beat down 6-0, 6-2 (what else can I say)

Men,

Fallen athlete alert: Felix Auger-Aliassime the #3 ranked Canadian lost in a shocker to Karen Khachanov. Unfortunately, Aliassime got sick during the match, feeling dizzy and off centered. Alliassime just could not overcome or recover, which Kachanov taking full advantage. Khachanov won the match sending Aliaaime home early 6-7, 6-3,6-2, 6-2

Fallen athlete alert: Gael Monfils also took a "L" on yesterday. This one hurts, the 40-year-old lost in 3 straight sets. (This one hurts, such a fan girl, not surprised though) Monfils lost to Learner Tien, Tien played way too fast and energetic his shot making was consistent throughout the match. Tien won 6-3, 6-4, 6-3.

Almost fallen athlete alert: (UGH) Alexander Zverev the #1 ranked men tennis player!!! (I have been a fan of his since Juniors, but he is making me take anxiety meds) If you are familiar with Zverev then you will know that many years ago he would start off his matches slow and he would barely pull out the win well guess what, that Zverev has shown up again. Being up to 2:00am in the morning watching two people playing tennis aint fun. Especially when the #1 player could have just ended it sooner with their powerful "130 something" serve. But nooooooo, that would be just too easy. Zverev, please I have a job, for the sake of it all, please stop this madness.  Zverev won against Quentin Halys 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4.

To be continued folks......
