Denver Nuggets on the Ropes with the Minnesota Timberwolves
Denver is faced with a possible early exit.
I didn't see this series going this way, I might be the only one and I accept it. Minnesota Timberwolves is owning Denver Nuggets right now. Minnesota has taken a 3-1 series lead on Denver. The final score on last night game was Denver 112 to Minnesota 96.
Minnesota is firing on all cylinders right now; they are making shots, speeding the tempo. They are considered a younger team who has youth and athleticism, and they have it on full display. While Denver played great offensively and they hung in there with Minnesota, they struggled defensively. They weren't able to box out nor apply transitional defense. I watched how they would put a body on Minnesota but lacked energy and effort and that just isn't good enough. Rule number one; Trading shots doesn't win games its Defense.
You would think that Denver would have an extreme advantage since two of Minnesota's best players exited early Donte DiVincenzo which will be out for the season due to a leg injury and Anthony Edwards who will miss a few weeks due to a hyperextended knee. But it seemed like Denver thought they were just playing a game of pick-up basketball.
One of the Minnesota players who stepped up was Ayo Dosunmu who scored an unbelievable 43 points. Ummm if you ask me, and no I am no rocket scientist PUT SOMEONE ON HIM!!!!
Well frustrations seem to be high I guess, Jokic took offense to Jaden McDaniels from Minnesota scoring for no reason instead of dribbling the ball out at the end of the game. Jokic apparently ran all 6'11 290 pounds at Jaden McDaniels to have a conversation? (oh ok) BAAAAAJESUS! If I was McDaniels I would have started screaming like a cat in fear, but fortunate enough he had his whole team there surrounding him to keep him safe.
Due to the little scuffle the players ejected Denver-Nikola Jokic and Minnesota-Julius Randle with 1.3 seconds remaining
While it's hard to count Denver out, they need to regroup and focus on bringing energy and high intensity defense to stay alive. The next game will be on tomorrow at 9:30pm on April 27, 2026.
