NBA-Is Wemby the replacement of Lebron

Can the NBA survive without having a face

Opinion article: Do we need another face of the NBA

Let's get into the conversation.

In the past decade the NBA basketball organization has had a face of the organization. We all know the name, but just in case you have been hiding under a rock or living on Gilligan's island its LeBron James.

LeBron has been a great marketing tIool for the NBA and pending his retirement do the NBA need a replacement.  My answer will probably not align with others opinion My opinion is "No".......

But the NBA is saying different and you can tell who they are leaning on (Victor Wembanyama). Wemby they feel is sellable, he is young, he doesn't have a controversial past and right now they think he is the hottest ticket. He amasses at 7'3 and he is great under the goal of course and also; he can shoot very well beyond the arc as well.

See being the face of the organization has some perks of course. They get more foul calls on who is guarding them. They get to cry on every call and walk a thin line of being angry with the referees and not get a technical. You might do something that the referee can't overlook but you won't get fined nor suspended just a little hand slap that's all. It's what you call preferential treatment.

To me it's called annoying you look around the league, and you see so many disparities. How many big men in the league get roughed up in the paint with no calls. It's been happening since the Hack a Shaq days. Look at the scratches down Nikola Jokic arms during a game or Karl Anthony Towns how he continues to get in foul trouble even though they swing on him like a swing set.  And yet if they swing and elbow someone in retaliation....  Well, you figure it out.

Look the NBA needs its fans to trust in the organization with so much controversy with game betting, which includes players, former players and coaches, we just want plain ole basic basketball. Plain ole basketball requires a team it's not a one-man sport. It's just that simple, give us something we can trust and believe in, if I wanted to watch preferential treatment of people with diva mentalities, I could just film my workplace.

Oh, and give us just two damn channels to watch the game on. This game searching is giving me a migraine

THE END
