The NBA Players who are at home waiting for the phone call
Jonathan Kuminga
He is waiting on a new home after he still remains as an unsigned free agent. Kuminga who was with the NBA team Atlanta Hawks during the 2025-2026 season, with decent stats that averaged around 12 points 5 rebounds and 2 assists and shooting 47% may be a little greedy. Kuminga is looking for more a higher payout with a team. Atlanta Hawks seem to decline an offer of $24.3 million to Kuminga, in needing to utilize more capital on a roster upgrade. Kuminga was traded to the Atlanta Hawks from Golden State Warriors in its own efforts to clear up and to make more room financially in it's rebuild. While Kuminga is an additive to a bench, I think he may be reaching a little in the expectation pond. Kuminga will have to reset and prove his worth before a check can clear for that amount. There are some rumors that there are some teams that may have an interest such as the LALakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jalen Duren
He too is waiting for a call and tired of the spam calls. Jalen Duren free agency has me scratching my head. Duren played with the Detroit pistons and his stats sell itself, he has averaged 19 points 10 rebounds and he is a great defensive athlete. Duren resume speaks for itself being and All NBA and All Star player who helped put the Pistons in a formidable position of playoff contenders. As of present apparently Detroit Pistons organization and Duren don't seem to be on the same page with the contract extension negotiations. Detroit seems to be interested in keeping Duren, but it has been reported he has denied their offer of mid $30 million a year. Pistons may not budge too much away from that offer since the disappointing loss in the playoffs this season.
DeMar DeRozan
He too is waiting on an email. DeRozan was waived by the Sacramento Kings the end of the season. Unfortunately, the Kings didn't necessarily want to release DeRozan but due to the luxury tax penalty they decided to let the small forward to walk. DeRozan while he is entering the veteran phase of his career, he is one of the best players that you can get off the bench. DeRozan stats are 18 points and 4 assists, which is pretty impressive DeRozan still will receive $10 million guaranteed from the Kings and that will give him many options without the team going over financially. There are many teams who have inquired and showed an interest in DeRozan: Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards. So technically the ball is in his court on where he feels like he can make a difference and contribute.
